My practice involves a wide range of art forms and incorporate activities within individual projects which can create synergies across diverse art-forms and the people who participate in them. I have a passionate belief in arts activities as a basis for integration and encouraging people to communicate and build relationships, to discover their similarities and to embrace their differences.
I have gained a wide experience of working with both children and adults, in schools, sheltered housing, local community venues and health environments, delivering a range of arts projects in places where people live, work and meet.
Participants are involved in all aspects from initial designs to final construction. These projects include arts and crafts based workshops where a variety of media is used including drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and digital art. Committed to conservation, we use recycled materials whenever possible.
Working together and supporting each other in workshops, enables participants to celebrate the diversity of our communities, embracing differences in cultural, historical and religious beliefs and ways of life, thereby strengthening the community as a whole.
Benefits of Community Arts
Having their voices heard bridges communication barriers between cultures, communities and linguistic groups. Involvement in arts projects often stimulates participants’ creative interests and so facilitates high levels of active engagement. Creative arts help some participants who may have difficulties expressing themselves, particularly if English is not their first language.
I am fully CRB checked and have £5,000,000 Public and Products Liability Insurance.
As each client has different aims and objectives the approach to each project can be adapted to fulfil most requirements. If you would like further information or perhaps you would like to discuss an idea you have, please do contact me to discuss your requirements.
